Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing – PAUT

We excel at working with the cutting edge technologies that our clients value. Phased array testing is a technology with a wide variety of advantages, such as enhanced accuracy and immediate inspection results. The technology uses multiple element probes controlled through advanced software to produce detailed 2D images of the material being tested. Using the software we can control the parameters, spot size, focal point, angles, and focal distance. Due to the amount of ultrasonic waves being emitted at a single time, phased array testing can often be completed in a shorter period of time than traditional ultrasonic testing. Phased array testing is also an effective alternative to radiographic testing, as performing radiographic testing often forces an area of operations to shut down. Ultrasonic testing is completely safe and causes minimal impact on health, safety, and the environment.

Radiographic Testing (Gamma and X-ray)

We have the equipment and expertise to provide both conventional radiographic testing and advanced digital radiographic testing. We have crews and trucks located throughout Western Canada, and can mobilize quickly to meet your radiographic testing requirements. Our technicians have been trained and certified to SNT and CGSB NDT Level 2 or 3. Once we have gathered the radiographic testing images, we can then perform in-house film digitization. This provides electronic versions of the images recorded from the inspection, allowing you to maintain a record of our findings.

Spark Testing

Confirming the Carbon equivalency of Z662 pipelines before cutting into them is a CSA requirement. This is the most common use for ‘Spark Testing’ (It’s called that because it used to use sparks). More modern variations involved lugging welders’ bottles full of Argon to use in pipeline trenches. Eddy Current Testing

Eddy Current Testing (ECT) is a fast and accurate non-destructive testing (NDT) method designed to detect surface and sub-surface flaws in conductive materials. Vision Integrity offers professional ECT services to help you ensure the safety and longevity of your critical assets.
